Head lice are tiny parasites that live on the scalp and feed on blood. They are common in children and spread through direct head-to-head contact. Female lice lay eggs on the hair shaft. Having lice is not linked to poor hygiene or lack of cleanliness, and they don't spread disease. Over-the-counter products have proven to be ineffective.

The lice are hard to find, they are located on one single hair shaft or on the scalp.
